| Studies
have shown that a person makes most of their major life decisions
during their college years. It is one of the most moldable times
of a person's life. On the one hand they are out from under their
parents roof, independent for the first time trying to decide how
they will live. On the other hand they are not yet tied down by
all of the responsibilities of the adult world such as marriage,
children and a full time job. Students are idealistic, optimistic,
and are looking for a cause to give their lives to (and they actually
have the time in this stage of life to give themselves to a cause).
We as the church need to show them that the greatest cause on earth
is Jesus. There is no loftier goal to spend oneself on than seeing
the great commission fulfilled in this generation through the church.
And the amazing reality is that whenever students have taken hold
of this, they have been the catalyst for many of the world's revivals
and most of the world's missions' movements. If you want to impact
the world, history proves it, invest your life in college students.
We invest in our students through student-led Lifegroups that meet
weekly in apartments that surround Baylor, MCC and TSTC. Pick up
a current list of Lifegroups at the Welcome Center on Sundays or
at Dwelling Place on Wednesday nights.
Dwelling place, a college celebration service, is held each Wednesday
at 8pm.
